EVA-2-en
Episode 21 — Director’s Cut

Couldn’t keep up with the subtitles…

The TV cut doesn’t have the lakeside conversation.
Episode 22 — Director’s Cut

Asuka’s take on Misato.

Not in the TV version—I kept waiting for this on first watch; should’ve gone straight to the Director’s Cut…

“Why were you there, doing nothing—not saving me, not holding me.”

This is the night after Asuka slammed the door—she goes to sleep next to Shinji later. Hence “doing nothing.”

After the kiss Shinji can’t take it and pulls back—hence “not holding me.”
Episode 23 — Director’s Cut

Genuinely unnerving.

The EVA graveyard.
Episode 24 — Director’s Cut

Kaji is already gone.

The End of Evangelion — Air

Complete mental breakdown.

True enough.

The Second Impact was also engineered by humans—reducing damage before other Angels awakened by reducing Adam to an egg. Humans and Adam alike are the 18th Angel born from Lilith, the source of life; other Angels gave up human form.

You hate yourself, so you hurt others—because hurting others hurts you more than hurting yourself. Still, those were your choices. They mattered. They were yours.
Your view isn’t absolute; if you’re wrong, you only regret it.
You cycle through hollow joy and self-loathing—but each time I feel I’ve moved a step forward.

??

The arm just falls off… like clay…

The Black Moon.

Terrifying.

Afraid of Shinji.

Afraid of the invisible, intangible stuff between people—so you lock your heart away.

- Then where is my dream?
- It is the continuation of reality.
- Then where is my reality?
- It is the end of the dream.

What’s happening—why the blood spray.

The sea of LCL.
Again wishing for others to exist.
Again fear of others returns.
Maybe people can understand each other.
