2023年第46周周报-en

I’m writing this weekly note on Wednesday of week 47.

Most of the week went to the thesis proposal: building the platform, reading papers, and shaping the proposal. I wanted to use DeepL via a translation extension; I talked to my advisor about reimbursement and they actually said yes—very grateful; they’re really kind.

I signed up for PyCon 2023—this time probably not as a volunteer but as an attendee.

A friend and I agreed to study MIT 6.824 together: learn together, organize materials and notes, and explain what we learned to each other (Feynman style). The first session went okay; we’ll keep at it.

After a long debate, and knowing I’ll have more office-style work like the proposal, I switched the OS back to Windows. Saturday I spent most of the day on it, then downloaded LoL and played with my roommates at night.

It was LoL worlds weekend; WBG lost. I was a bit down that day, but they tried their best—that’s fine.

After Saturday I spent a lot of time on environments. Monday afternoon I learned my grandfather had passed; I bought a high-speed rail ticket home. Only today did things feel a bit calmer—I found a room, opened the laptop, and caught up on last week’s note. After this I’ll catch up on notes, then keep inching forward on study when I can.

Next week’s note will be short—probably not much to report. See you then @_@
