The first week back from my hometown—ups and downs, and still plenty to do.
When I got back I first caught up on school lab reports; it was boring so my efficiency wasn’t great. From Thursday onward I started making a daily to-do list every day. Organizing notes and similar habits are still new, so they take extra time, and I often didn’t finish what I’d planned. Next week I’ll lower my expectations and focus on what matters most.
Right now the important things are: the distributed systems course—read papers, take reading notes, and start the labs; when I get stuck in the labs I’ll need to learn more, mainly Go. And KubeEdge—I need to deploy it soon, then read and change source code, and help flesh out the official docs, which are too barebones. I should keep doing LeetCode every day.
I’m more and more convinced that fundamentals have to be solid; when I have time I want to catch up on OS courses and labs, and read TCP/IP Illustrated. There’s just so much to learn.
This week I moved my Mastodon instance from defcon.social to the larger o3o.ca (嘟站)—lots of cute emoji—and I’ve made friends on Mastodon. Happy about that.
I watched all the LoL quarterfinal matches this week; for the last two I watched the English cast. Most of the time I think I was hearing noise—the pace is really fast—but that’s something you have to go through. Go TheShy; WBG, just do your best.
